There are different places in an article where you can insert your keywords, which are clearly noticeable by Search Engine Bots.
Title of an article is most important part where you can put your keywords. All search engines gives high importance to those keywords which is in ‘Title’. Put your most important and most relevant keywords in ‘Title’ of your article.
Some people suggest that you should use your important keywords twice in your article i.e. “SEO Tips – How to do on-page SEO”. Here we are using keyword ‘SEO’ and we have used it twice in title. Although it’s not a hard & fast rule.
Tips- While putting your keywords in your title you should keep in your mind that your Title should be attractive and eye catching.
2- Meta Description Tag
If you are using wordpress then most of the popular SEO plugins (i.e. ‘All in one SEO’) provides you option to put you article description (Meta Tag Description). You should put your keywords in description tag as well. This part is highlighted after your title in search result. You should put keywords in your Description tag which match with your article otherwise it will consider as ‘Keyword stuffing’ and your blog/site may get penalized.
3- Meta Keywords Tag
Meta keyword html tag is one of the most important and most valuable places where you can put your keywords. You can say it ‘backbone’ of SEO. You should put all your ‘keywords’ and ‘keywords phrase’ in it.
Tips- Most of the search engines accepts ‘142’ characters from Meta Description and Meta Keywords tag, so keep your keywords length within 142 characters.
4- Image ‘Alt’ attribute
Image in your article also adds SEO value to your blog/websites. ‘Alt’ attribute of your image (when you upload an image using wordpress ‘add Photo/Media’ option then you get it) is one of the important part that is access by Search Engine bots. Put your keywords in ‘Alt’ attribute to get SEO benefit from an image.
Tips- Most of the search engines accept ‘142’ characters from ‘Alt’ attribute of image, so keep your keywords length within 142 characters.
5- URL of article
Yes, URL is also one of the important parts of an article where you can put your keywords. If you do a search in Google you can see in results that after the title there are words in URL that is marked as bold. Put only relevant keywords in your URL; don’t use ‘is’, ‘are’, ‘and’, ‘or’, ‘of’ etc.
